Weapons: types, ranks and the weapon card
What weapon types and ranks mean, how to read a weapon card, how to get new weapons on DWO Reborn, and how a second weapon works.
- Your weapon type decides all your moves.
- A higher rank can be upgraded further, but is not stronger by itself.
- New weapons come from the Blacksmith's weekly shelf, PvP wins and the Broker.
Tap an underlined word to see what it means.
Your weapon decides your whole move set: every weapon type has its own normal string, charge attacks and Musou. Within a type, a higher-rank weapon can be upgraded further. This chapter explains what to look at and where new weapons come from.
Types and ranks
There are dozens of weapon types: spears, fans, twin blades, flutes, pikes, rods and many more, each with its own wiki page listing its attacks. Every type comes in seven ranks, Rank 1 to Rank 7, each with its own name and look.
| Rank | Highest temper | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 | The base of the type. |
| 2 | 16 | Each flask upgrade gives a little more. |
| 3 | 20 | More again, and often a longer reach. |
| 4 to 7 | 24 | The highest temper cap; the bonus per flask upgrade keeps growing with rank. |
A higher rank does not make a weapon stronger by itself: an untempered Rank 7 has the same base stats as an untempered Rank 1. Rank decides how far a weapon can be tempered and how much each flask upgrade adds. A well-tempered Rank 4 beats an untempered Rank 7.
Weapons you can get right now
On DWO Reborn twelve weapon families are in play. Try them with the Trial Officer in the Courtyard before you buy.

Reading the weapon card
Open the main menu, then Information, Personal, Weapon (the same card appears in your armory, at the Blacksmith and in Battle Preparations). From top to bottom:
| Line | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name and rank | The weapon's name and its rank (1 to 7). |
| Modify n/5 | How many of the weapon's 5 modification points are used. |
| Temper n/24 | Temper points spent out of the weapon's cap. Each star costs as many points as its number: the 1st star 1, the 2nd 2, and so on. |
| Attack, Damage, Defense, Life, Musou | Each line reads: starting value (+ the amount one flask upgrade adds), then stars (how many upgrades you can buy in battle) and the slot number on the flask ring. |
| Movement and Jump | Running speed and jump height. Tempering does not change them. |
| Emblems (C1 and C6) | The shape of your C1 and C6 charge attacks. |
| Ultimate Enhancement | Your weapon's Advance+ ability. |
| Temper durability and element durability | Two bars that wear down in battle. When temper durability runs out the weapon loses a random star; when element durability runs out it loses an element stage. Repair at the Blacksmith. |
| Usage | How much the weapon has been used in PvP. |
Before every battle take three seconds to check both durability bars and the stars on the slots you plan to use.
Getting weapons on DWO Reborn
| Source | What you get |
|---|---|
| Your starter | A Rank 4 Spear with Temper 0/24. You can never sell or throw away your last weapon. |
| The Blacksmith's weekly shelf | Rank 3 weapons, 5,000 gold each, one per character per week. The shelf shows four families at a time and changes every Monday; each row shows the exact weapon you will get, with its own emblems. |
| PvP battles | Broken crates and enemy Supply Captains sometimes drop a Rank 4 weapon, more rarely a Rank 5. You keep it only if your team wins. Mock Battle rooms you create yourself never drop weapons. |
| Win streaks | A run of wins in a row in team matches earns a random weapon. |
| Standoff and Deadlock prize packs | Winning teams in bigger matches receive prize packs that can include a weapon. |
| The Broker | Weapons other players have listed for sale. |
Quests do not give weapons at the moment, and Grind (raising a weapon's rank at the Forge) is switched off.
Your second weapon
Some battles let you take two weapons. Battle Preparations then shows Weapon 1 and Weapon 2; you start with Weapon 1. Press Break Charge (H) to switch with a special attack, which costs Musou. On DWO Reborn two weapons are used in the battles marked Dual Weapons, such as the Quick Dual Wep rows.
- Each weapon has its own Advance+.
- Switching keeps your flask counter, but cuts a running Advance+ short.
- Pick a second weapon that covers what your first one lacks, for example a wide crowd-clearer next to a strong duelling weapon.
