Town: map, NPCs and what each one does
Where everything is in your faction's capital, how the districts connect, and which non-player character to visit for each job.
- Plazas hold the battle desks, the Market holds the shops, the Courtyard holds the generals.
- Walk into a door to go through it; click your house door to choose where you come out.
- The Blacksmith's weekly Rank 3 weapon is the best early upgrade.

Every faction has its own capital city, and every capital is laid out the same way: three plazas, a Courtyard full of generals' offices, your own house, and two places shared by every faction, the Market and the Tavern. You walk between them through doors; walking into a door takes you straight through.
The districts at a glance
| District | What you go there for |
|---|---|
| West, Central and East Plaza | The battle desks: Melee Receptionist, Marshal, Clerk, Messenger, Sergeant and the Battle Royale Elder stand in every plaza. Also the Peach Nymph for travel. |
| Courtyard | The ring of offices of your faction's generals (your lord lives here), plus the Training Officer, Trial Officer, Commentator and Chief Clerk. |
| Market | Shops and crafting: Blacksmith, Merchant, Broker, Antique Dealer, Tailor, Beautician, and the shared Forge, Loom and Cauldron. One Market is shared by all factions. |
| Tavern | One tavern shared by all factions. Guild business and the door to the Guild Room. |
| Your house | Storage for weapons, gear and items, your mail desk, your bed (to log out) and, later, your own crafting stations. |
| Shangri-La | A peaceful place reached through the Peach Nymph, with its own Blacksmith, Merchant, Tailor, Antique Dealer and the Battle Royale Elder. Mixed-faction parties are formed here. |
From any plaza there are doors to the other two plazas, the Tavern, your House, the Market and the Courtyard. The Market's three exits take you back to your own West, Central or East Plaza, and leaving the Tavern puts you back out of the door you came in by.
Older guides call the Courtyard the Corridor; it is the same place.
Getting around
- Walk with W, A, S and D and steer the camera with the mouse. Walk into a door to go through it.
- The minimap in the top-right corner shows the district and the non-player characters in it. During the tutorial the person you need next blinks on the map.
- The Peach Nymph (in the plazas and the Market) has one option, Travel, which takes you to Shangri-La and back.
- If a window or your character gets stuck, open another player's menu and close it again; if that does not help, log out and back in.
Leaving your house: Move, Select and Set
Click the exit door inside your house to choose where you come out. Move takes you to your default plaza. Select sends you to a plaza once. Set changes which plaza Move uses from now on.
Select does not change your default plaza; only Set does. Until you use Set, the door leads to the Courtyard while you are in the tutorial and to the Central Plaza after it.
Visiting other houses
Clicking a house door out in town (instead of walking into it) offers Visit and Garden Visit, so you can look around a friend's or guild mate's house or garden. Up to 8 guests can visit at once, and the owner does not have to be online. Walking into the door simply takes you home.
Who's who: the plazas
The name floating above each character is the English patch's name, which is what this guide uses.
| Character | What they do for you | Use them when |
|---|---|---|
| Melee Receptionist | Quick Melee bookings: pick a row and the game finds you opponents. She also guides you through the tutorial. | You want a PvP match fast. This is the usual way into battle. |
| Marshal | Melee rooms (lists of player-made PvP rooms). The Campaign row is shown but is not available yet. | You want to join or create a Melee room. |
| Clerk | Mock Battle rooms, Quick Mock, and Start Quest to run a quest you have accepted. | You have taken a quest and want to play it. |
| Messenger | Guild desk: join a guild, guild recruitment settings, guild rewards, buy Guild Gems and guild furniture. | You are joining or running a guild. |
| Battle Royale Elder | Team Melee bookings for three or four teams (Standoff and Deadlock). | You want a free-for-all between teams. |
| Peach Nymph | Travel to Shangri-La and back. | You want to visit Shangri-La. |
| Sergeant | Hands out some quests. The Showdown battles he ran in the original game are not available yet. | Rarely. |
Who's who: the Market
| Character | What they do for you | Prices worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Blacksmith | Temper, Chi Temper, Activation, Modify, Repair, Remove Tempering, Mod Removal and Buy Weapons. | Buy Weapons is a weekly shelf of Rank 3 weapons at 5,000 gold each, one per character per week. |
| Merchant | Buys and sells consumables, buys your unwanted weapons, gear and items, and sells Miso Koins for gold. Exchange turns gold or items into Shells. | 1 Miso Koin = 500 gold. Shells cost 10 gold each. |
| Broker | The player market: buy what other players listed, or list your own weapons, gear and consumables. | A small sales fee. Listings last 7 days. One market for every faction. |
| Antique Dealer | Sells furniture, gems, ore and some gear and items for Miso Koins, and sells Miso Koins for gold (Trade). | 1 Miso Koin = 500 gold. Koins can never be turned back into gold. |
| Tailor | Basic gear for gold, dyes, and repairs to gear. | Gear costs 200 gold a piece. The stock changes every week. |
| Beautician | Change your character's look after creation: body, face, hair, colours and voice. | Looks offered at character creation are free; extra looks cost 4 Miso Koins once. Touch-up (go back to your previous look) costs 1,000 gold. |
| Synthesis Assistant | Explains crafting at the Cauldron, Loom and Forge, then asks a quiz question. | Free. |
| Shared Forge, Loom and Cauldron | Crafting stations anyone can use: Element Imbue at the Forge and Loom, Dyeing and Tailoring at the Loom, item recipes at the Cauldron. | A gold fee and a lower success rate than stations in your own house. |
The Blacksmith's weekly Rank 3 shelf is the most reliable weapon upgrade for a new player. The Blacksmith's and the Tailor's stock changes every week, so look in now and then.
Who's who: the Courtyard
The Courtyard is a ring of doors, one office per general of your faction, with a guard by each door named after his general. Inside an office are the general and his Chief Clerk. Offices of generals your faction has not recruited are locked.
| Character | What they do for you |
|---|---|
| Your general (lord) | Talk to serve him. He pays your salary, stamps your Musou Board and gives some quests. |
| The general's Chief Clerk | Pays your salary when the general is away. |
| Training Officer | Training quests, challenge quests and the early promotion trials. |
| Trial Officer | Skill trials such as the Weapon Trial. |
| Commentator | Lesson quests that explain a system each, for example weapon properties, combat types and the Musou Board. Good for curious beginners. |
Your house
Every character owns a house. It is where your things are kept when you are not carrying them, and it grows as you buy furniture.
| Furniture | What it does |
|---|---|
| Armories | Hold your weapons. The starter house has 3 placed armories with 4 weapons each, so 12 weapons. |
| Wardrobe | Holds your gear. The starter wardrobe holds 20 pieces per slot. |
| Writing Desk | Your mail: New Letter, Inbox and Outbox. |
| Bed | Rest, which ends the game and logs you out. |
| Medal Box | Lets you equip titles. Not in the starter house. |
| Forge, Loom, Cauldron | Your own crafting stations: no gold fee, a better success rate, and a failed attempt keeps the material. Bought from the Antique Dealer. |
| Furniture door | Manage, move or discard furniture. |
When a store is full nothing is deleted: new items of that kind simply stop coming in until you make room, and the chat tells you when that happens.
Nothing can be planted in gardens on DWO Reborn yet. The garden's stable does hold rideable mounts (tiger, wolf and elephant) that every player can use: Mount, Standby or Dismiss.
