Creating your character
Name and origin, body, face, hair, colours and voice, choosing your faction, what you start with, and what you can change later.
- Your name and origin (home town) can never be changed; your looks can.
- Pick the faction your friends play: Dong Zhuo or Yuan Shao.
- You start with a Rank 4 Spear, several outfits and no money.

Character creation takes a few minutes, but two choices are permanent: your name and your origin. Everything about your looks can be changed later at the Beautician, and your faction can be changed with a Rebirth.
The screens, in order
- Character selection: choose an empty slot to make a new character.
- Naming: your name and your origin.
- Character making: gender, body type, face, features, hair, colours and voice.
- World selection: the scenario and the faction you will fight for.
- The opening story, then you wake up in your own house and the tutorial begins.
Name and origin
Your name and your origin (the town your character comes from) together form your identity, shown as Name_Origin. Two players may share a name if their origins differ; the game asks you to confirm if that happens.
- Names can be up to 10 letters long and cannot contain spaces.
- Names that look like staff titles, such as GM, Admin or Moderator, are refused.
- The origin has no effect on your stats. Choose Auto Origin for a random one or Select Origin to pick from the map.
- Other players need your name and origin to send you a private message, so a short, easy name helps.
Name and origin can never be changed, not even by a Rebirth. Take your time.
Looks and voice

There is also a button to make a random character. It throws away what you have set so far.
Every look offered at character creation is free to switch to later at the Beautician. Faces, features and hairstyles beyond the creation set cost 4 Miso Koins each, once. Voices are always of your own gender.
Choosing your faction
On the World Selection screen you choose which ruler's army you join. Your faction decides which capital you live in, who you fight alongside in battle and which generals you can serve.
The current scenario on DWO Reborn is Heroes Arise, and new characters choose between two factions: Dong Zhuo and Yuan Shao. Dong Zhuo's generals include Lu Bu, Diao Chan and Zhang Liao; Yuan Shao leads a coalition of sixteen officers, among them Cao Cao, Sun Jian, Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhao Yun.
- Pick the same faction as your friends. Players of the same faction are put on the same side in Melee rooms, and you can only party with your own faction in town (Shangri-La is the exception).
- Quick Melee matches you against players of the other faction, so both sides need players.
- The officer you pick on this screen is only temporary: in the tutorial you choose the general you really serve.

You cannot throw away or sell your last weapon, so you can never be left without one.

If you picked the wrong faction, change it early. The tutorial's promotion pays 200 Honor, and after that a Rebirth is no longer free.
