Invitations
With invitations on, players standing idle in town receive a sortie invitation to your room. Anyone who does not want them can turn them off with "Recruitment Preference" in Social Settings.
Victory conditions
The host picks one of these:
| Condition | How it plays |
|---|---|
| Enemy commander 10 retreats | The first side to make enemy commanders retreat 10 times wins (3 in a 1v1). |
| More enemy commanders defeated | The side with more commander defeats when time runs out wins. |
| Capture all enemy bases | Take every base the enemy started with. In these rooms bases are taken by breaking their buildings. |
| Capture all bases | As above, but you must hold every base on the map. |
| Unknown | The condition is revealed when the battle starts. |
Maps
21 maps can be chosen. The Arena is only offered for the 10 retreats and more-commanders conditions. The "Unknown" map picks one at random. Battle clocks are listed on the Maps and battle clocks page.
Flasks at the start, and retreat power-up
The room's Retreat Power-up setting decides what happens to your flask upgrades when you are defeated and retreat.
| Retreat power-up setting | You start with | When you retreat |
|---|---|---|
| Maintain | No flask upgrades | You keep all your flask upgrades |
| Decrease | No flask upgrades | You lose one flask upgrade |
| Lost | No flask upgrades | You lose all your flask upgrades |
| Any "Enhanced status" option | Fully upgraded | - |
| Any room on the Arena | Fully upgraded | - |
Timed effects such as Attack x2, Defence x2 and Max Speed always end when you retreat. Check the room's settings in Battle Preparations before you deploy, so you know how careful you need to be.
Handicap and attack correction
Handicap is a room setting only. When it is on, players with less fame than the room's top player get a stat boost - the bigger the gap, the bigger the boost.
With attack correction on, very high Attack counts for less, so a heavily upgraded weapon cannot end a fight in one hit.
CPU generals
In rooms whose victory condition is not about commanders, empty seats are filled by computer-controlled generals, shown as "[CPU]" followed by a name.
- They fight players and take bases, so guard yours.
- They take over for players who disconnect.
- Defeating a CPU general does not count toward the score.
- They never appear in the Quick modes or in Standoff / Deadlock.
Compared with the original game
In the original game room grades were rank-based, and losing a battle in any grade except Novice cost you the items you had found. Here the grade rows are weapon-count rows (Single Weapon and Dual Weapons), all 21 maps can be chosen, and CPU generals, the fame handicap and town invitations are new.
