Getting in
Why can't I download the game?
The download and the game login are currently open to accounts with the Tester rank or above, and to staff. The download page says which applies to you. See Getting started.
I logged in, but my character is stuck or the screen is frozen.
Open another player's menu and close it again; that frees most stuck windows. If it does not, log out and back in.
I crashed in the middle of a battle. Did I lose everything?
No. Log back in quickly and you return to the battle. A quest carries on where you left it, and in a team PvP match your seat is kept for you. In a 1v1 your opponent only waits a short while, then you forfeit.
The game's characters suddenly speak Chinese.
Typing two or more Simplified Chinese characters in a chat message switches the language of the non-player characters' lines. Ask the team on Discord to switch it back.
Character and tutorial
Can I change my name?
No. Your name and origin are permanent. Your looks can be changed at the Beautician.
Which faction should I pick?
The one your friends play. You fight alongside your own faction and Quick Melee matches you against the other one.
I picked the wrong faction.
A Rebirth (from your bed) changes faction. It is free while you have 200 Honor or less, which means before the tutorial's promotion; after that it needs a Rebirth Orb.
Why can't I join PvP?
PvP opens when you finish the tutorial, which promotes you to Guard. Finish every step, including reporting to the Melee Receptionist.
Fighting
How do I charge-block?
Hold Guard (U), press Charge (K), and wait a moment until you start to spark. It costs Musou while held and for every swing it counters. See Defence.
My normal attacks do nothing against someone who does not flinch.
They have Super Armor. Use charge attacks or a Musou, which cut through it.
Why is my weapon so weak in battle?
A weapon's real power comes from tempering (stars on the flask ring) and from spending flasks during the battle. A new Temper 0 weapon has no stars at all. Temper it at the Blacksmith and buy Attack+ early in every battle.
I keep losing my power-ups when I die.
That depends on the battle's Retreat Power-up rule, shown in its conditions: Maintain keeps your upgrades, Decrease costs you one upgrade, Lost wipes them all. Timed buffs always end when you are defeated. See Flask upgrades.
What does slot 4 (Lieutenant+) do?
On DWO Reborn lieutenants do not fight in battles yet, so slot 4 gives a random 20 second buff for 4 flasks, and you can use it again and again.
Items, weapons and money
How do I get better weapons?
Buy the Blacksmith's weekly Rank 3 weapon (5,000 gold, one per character per week), win PvP battles for Rank 4 and Rank 5 weapon drops (kept only if your team wins), buy from other players at the Broker, and temper what you have. Quests do not give weapons at the moment.
How do I get Miso Koins?
Buy them with gold at the Antique Dealer or the Merchant: 500 gold per Koin. They are shared by every character on your account, up to 9,999. Koins cannot be turned back into gold.
Where are my items?
Open the main menu, then Equipment. Weapons are kept in your house's armories, gear in its wardrobe. When a store is full, new items of that kind stop arriving until you make room; nothing is deleted.
Why can't I grind my weapon?
Grind and Master Grind are switched off on DWO Reborn for now.
Other players
My private message does not arrive.
On DWO Reborn private messages (tells) only reach your friends and guild mates, and need the player's name with their origin. Add them as a friend first.
Who do I ask for help?
Use the beginner chat channel in game (B key), or ask the team and the community on Discord.
