Terms of Service

DWO Reborn is a non-commercial, volunteer-run community project reviving Dynasty Warriors Online, a game that is no longer operated by its publisher. It is operated by its development team, who can be reached at [email protected] and on our Discord server. We aim to answer within 3 business days.

Dynasty Warriors and Dynasty Warriors Online are trademarks of Koei Tecmo Games. This project is a fan revival. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with, sponsored by or connected to Koei Tecmo Games in any way, and we make no claim to their intellectual property.

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live — 16 in most of Europe, 13 in many other places — and if you are under 18 you need the permission of a parent or guardian to hold an account. If you make a donation you must additionally be the holder of the payment method used, or have the explicit permission of the person who is.

One person may hold more than one account, but accounts may not be shared, sold, traded or transferred, and using multiple accounts to evade a suspension is itself a breach of these terms.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password private and your registered email address current. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication in your settings. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

We store the IP address your account registered from and the address of recent activity. This is used to investigate abuse and to enforce suspensions, and is described in the Privacy Policy.

The Acceptable Use Policy sets out what is and is not allowed on the game servers, the forum, the chat and our Discord, and the enforcement actions that follow a breach. It forms part of these terms.

The game client is provided for use with DWO Reborn servers only. You may not distribute modified clients, use third-party software that alters game behaviour to gain an advantage, automate play, or attempt to access game servers by any means other than the supplied client.

Access to the game is granted by account flag and, at present, is limited to staff, testers and supporters at the Tester tier and above while the project is in development. Nothing here guarantees that arrangement will continue in any particular form.

Game characters, items, titles, currency and progress exist only as records on our servers. They are licensed to you for use within the game, are not your property, have no monetary value, and may not be sold or traded for anything of real-world value. We may adjust, reset or remove them where the game requires it.

Donations and the supporter benefits they deliver are governed by the Donation & Supporter Benefits Policy and the Refund & Dispute Resolution Policy, which set out what you receive, when it arrives, and how to obtain a refund. Both form part of these terms.

You keep ownership of what you post — forum posts, profile content, screenshots, streams. By posting it here you give us permission to display, store and distribute it as part of running the site and the community, and to reproduce it where we showcase community content. You can withdraw that by deleting the content or your account.

You are responsible for having the right to post what you post. We may remove anything that breaches these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or somebody else's rights.

This is a volunteer project in active development. Servers go down, features change, progress is occasionally lost to a bug or a wipe, and there is no service level of any kind. We will tell you what we know when things break, and we will not pretend the project is more stable than it is.

The site, the client and the servers are provided as they are, without warranty. To the fullest extent the law where you live allows, we are not liable for loss of game progress, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the project. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or affects your mandatory consumer rights.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that is used to obtain supporter benefits fraudulently, or where we are legally required to. Enforcement is proportionate and appealable — the Acceptable Use Policy says how.

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. Deleted accounts are held briefly so a deletion made in error can be undone, and then permanently removed; see the Privacy Policy.

We may amend these terms. Each version carries a version identifier, and material changes are announced on the site and on Discord before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the amended terms. Amendments never apply retroactively to a donation already made.

If you have a complaint, raise it with us first at [email protected]. Almost everything is resolved that way, and we would rather hear it directly. You keep every right available to you under the law of the country you live in, including the right to bring a matter before your local courts and to contact your payment provider.
