Acceptable Use Policy

Version 2026-09-20 · Last updated September 20, 2026

These rules apply everywhere the community meets: the game servers, the forum, the chat, profiles, streams and our Discord. They exist so the place stays worth being in. Supporter tiers make no difference to how they are applied.

1. Treat people decently

Do not:

  • harass, threaten, stalk or repeatedly target another person, in public or in private messages;
  • post hateful content directed at people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
  • post sexual content involving minors, or sexualise anyone who appears to be one;
  • share someone's personal information without their consent — real name, address, workplace, photographs, accounts;
  • impersonate another player, a member of staff, or Koei Tecmo.

2. Play fairly

Do not:

  • use cheats, trainers, packet editors, memory editors, macros or any third-party software that alters how the game behaves;
  • exploit a bug for advantage instead of reporting it;
  • automate play, farm with scripts, or run unattended clients;
  • deliberately sabotage matches, or coordinate with opponents to manipulate results or rankings;
  • evade a suspension with another account.

Reporting an exploit you found gets you thanked, not punished. That is the trade we are offering.

3. Accounts, payments and benefits

Do not:

  • sell, buy, rent, trade or share accounts, characters, items or in-game currency;
  • trade anything from the game for real-world money or goods, including through third parties;
  • pay with a card, wallet or account you are not entitled to use, or on behalf of someone who has not agreed to it;
  • reverse a payment after receiving and using supporter benefits instead of contacting us — see the Refund & Dispute Resolution Policy, which explains how to get your money back properly;
  • claim a rank, badge or tier you did not earn, or misrepresent yourself as staff or a showcased streamer.

4. Do not attack the platform

Do not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers, panels or the database;
  • disrupt the service — flooding, denial of service, resource exhaustion;
  • scrape the site at volume, or automate account creation;
  • upload malware, or post links that lead to it or to phishing pages dressed up as ours;
  • abuse profile customisation, forum markup or chat to break other people's pages, track them, or inject code.

Security researchers are welcome. Report what you find to [email protected] before disclosing it, give us a reasonable chance to fix it, and do not access or alter data belonging to anyone else while testing. Do that and we will not treat it as a breach of this policy.

5. Content you post

Keep it legal and keep it yours. Do not post content you do not have the right to post, advertising or referral spam, unrelated commercial promotion, or content that is illegal where either of us is. Keep discussion of the game civil; disagreement is fine, contempt is not.

6. What happens when a rule is broken

We aim for the smallest action that fixes the problem. In escalating order, staff may:

  • remove or edit the content in question;
  • issue a timeout, which silences forum posts, private messages, chat and profile edits for a set period from five minutes upward;
  • remove a rank, badge or showcase listing where it was obtained or used improperly;
  • suspend the account, which ends site and game access and withdraws supporter benefits;
  • terminate the account, after which it is hidden for 7 days so an error can be undone and then permanently deleted.

Serious cases — cheating, payment fraud, sexual content involving minors, attacks on the platform — skip straight to suspension or termination. Donations made before a suspension are not refunded; a donation has never been a licence to break these rules and is not a defence to having broken them.

7. Appeals

If you think an action against your account was wrong, email [email protected] with your username and what you believe happened. A member of staff who was not involved in the original decision will review it and give you an answer in writing. Appeal decisions on termination are final, but we will always tell you why.

Suspensions arising from a reversed payment are handled differently: they lift as soon as the dispute is withdrawn or the amount is settled, and no appeal is needed.

8. Reporting someone

Use the report button on a post, profile or chat message, or email [email protected] for anything urgent or sensitive. Reports are read by staff and are not shown to the person reported. Filing reports in bad faith is itself a breach of this policy.
